We are always happy when jobs come in that are community based, this was definitely one of those.
Large, mostly open plan, with a kitchen and library. The Centre is the hive of activity for the
retirement village. From monthly meetings to karaoke, to indoor bowls and Christmas concerts, it all
happens here. To be able to give the elderly residents a place to socialise and enjoy their twilight
years was a huge feel good project for us. It’s always nice to see something we’ve built put to such
enthusiastic use.

With a patient roll that includes 90% of our workforce this was very much a hometown job, we do
appreciate that in this day and age, jobs like this quite often get contracted out of town.
The new ambulance bay/ upstairs office renovation was a little challenging as it was still a working
medical facility with emergency patients etc.
The project was completed in a timely and cost effective manner and we still maintain our
tremendous relationship with Pukekohe Family Health Care.

1500m² Commercial building in Pukekohe, High Tec plant with an abundance of office space.
Another commercial build delivered time and on budget, we do this by handling almost every aspect
of the build from the outset, it also really gives us the chance to let our commitment to quality shine
through.
To be able to employ people that can go from large tilt panels with seemingly endless reinforcing to
impeccable finishing work and everything in between is our biggest differentiator we feel, and Alpito
Place really allowed us to display that. The flawless negative detailing on the façade is proof of this.

When Norwood Pukekohe decided they had outgrown their old space in the centre of town, they
contracted us to give them the new building they’d dreamed of for years.
Employing the design build system that really sets us apart, we delivered a custom built 2000m² new
home for them featuring a huge workshop with welding bay, large retail and midfloor with
plenty of office space on time and on budget, we do this by handling almost every aspect of the

When PGG Wrightsons took over the lease to the old Mitre 10 building in Pukekohe, they obviously
required a huge 1000m² commercial refit. With three months until opening, we had four packets of
4x2, seven packets of tri board and construction of a fire rated dangerous goods store etc. needless
to say we were a little up against it!
Working in an indoor setting with high bay lights to a tight time frame meant the inevitable late
nights/early starts but the boys really dug in and came through. In doing so they also produced to a
high level. This is something we pride ourselves on at Holmes and Brown, we never sacrifice quality
even if it means extra hours.

entertaining in mind, the floor plan features beautiful dark polished concrete floors with an open-

time with two separate rain head showers and a teak bench seat.

This incredible house was the original doctors house on doctors hill, Pukekohe, Built in the 1920’s to
an incredible standard, It was lovingly and painstakingly restored by Holmes and Brown Builders to
the tune of almost $2 million over an 18 month period. As the photo’s display, no stone was left
unturned and no expense was spared. The result is quite simply breath-taking. Some of the obvious
features being the large guest house bordering the infinity pool. The mechanically louvre’d outdoor
kitchen/dining area and the cosy wine cellar to name but a few.
Please see our facebook page for more pictures of this iconic Pukekohe home. You will not be
disappointed.

We are always happy when jobs come in that are community based, this was definitely one of those.
With a hall that is part of the school but also the local community hall you just know that it’s going to
be put to fantastic use.
Large, mostly open plan and built to strict ministry of education guidelines this was another fantastic
project to be a part of.

We were thrilled to win this tender as it meant we could continue our proud tradition of building
high quality early childhood education centres.
The famous Papakura peat problem reared its ugly head here. With an abundance of soft spots and
even some contaminated oil thanks to an old diesel pit, this could have turned into a geotechnical
nightmare. The upside for us is thanks to our fleet of machinery and highly qualified operators we
were able to take care of any and all problems in a very timely manner. This is a job that we are very
rightly proud of as such big faults could easily derail a project like this. Needless to say it was still a
relief when we got that final geotech sign off!
With a compromised completion date (6 weeks shaved off) the guys really dug deep, there were 7
day work weeks for the duration for some of us. In doing so they also produced to a high level. This
is something we pride ourselves on at Holmes and Brown, we never sacrifice quality even if it means
extra hours.
